This Opportunity
SSC is currently searching for a Full-Time Office Engineer for our Los Angeles, California location. A versatile inspector is sought to support public works construction and/or transit/aviation construction.
Your must-have’s:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management OR other related field.

Licensed Engineer (preferably by CA Board of Engineers); Optional Certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, etc., and/or any other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification.

10 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.

Available to work a modified schedule and overtime, as construction activities require.
Preferred:
-
Some knowledge and experience of Airport construction.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports.
-
Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees and contractors.

Flexibility to adjust to new tasks, if company or office needs change, may be called upon to take meeting minutes in meetings.

Capable of working and have vast knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Pro-core, Prolog, VEO and other programs that are necessary to complete daily assignments.

Excellent skills in document contract, documentation, and saving and monitor inspection request submitted by tenant/contractor when received on a daily basis.

Experience with office machines (e.g. copiers, fax machines, printers).

Valid California Driver’s License.

Have a great sense of humor.
Job duties include (but not limited to):

Report to several managers.
-
Provide attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly.

Assign tasks, accept instructions, suggest new process and policies, if required.

Assist Supervisors with the onboarding process for new hires.

Review of monthly progress payments review.

Assist in training in-house employees and outside company staff with our Inspection process and protocols.

Create and manage inspection spreadsheets for several programs, extract safety and inspection data to create spreadsheets for inspectors managers use.

Review employee’s timesheet for accuracy and ensure time charges are correct prior to Supervisor’s signature.

Order and pick-up office supplies.

Maintain our standards of professionalism to our clients and partner’s.

Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
